Alex Eby Obituary Manheim, Pennsylvania Death

Family, friends, colleagues, and the Manheim, Pennsylvania, community are mourning the unexpected passing of Alex Lamar Eby, who entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the age of 30. A longtime resident of Manheim and later Columbia, Pennsylvania, Alex is remembered for his unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and dedication to both his family and community.

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Alex was the beloved son of Donald L. and Kaye M. (Lefever) Eby of Manheim. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a deep commitment to his Christian faith and to helping others.

Alex was an active member of Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, where he faithfully served as an usher and was known for his willingness to support his church family in any way he could. His passion for serving extended beyond his local congregation through volunteer work with Unto Ministries in Mount Joy. He also participated in mission trips to Guatemala with Orphan Resources International and to Alaska with Light Shine Ministries, touching countless lives through his compassion and generosity.

A 2014 graduate of Manheim Central High School, Alex built his professional career with Eby Plumbing, LLC, where he served as Vice President of Operations. Colleagues admired his strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication to providing exceptional service while helping guide the family business.

Outside of work, Alex enjoyed maintaining an active lifestyle. As a member of the Hempfield RecCenter, he spent much of his free time exercising and swimming, embracing opportunities to stay healthy while enjoying time with friends and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Helen Eby; his chosen grandfather, Wilmer Esbenshade; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Nora Lefever, his chosen grandmother, Shirley Esbenshade, and his aunt, Jean Sullenberger.

A graveside service celebrating Alex’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Erisman Mennonite Cemetery in Manheim. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Unto Global Logistics Center in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania.

Alex Eby’s legacy of faith, humility, service, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
